I arrived at the Rome airport at around 12pm on June 3rd. From there I took the train to Siena. On the train I met two girls from Russia who were also travelling for the summer; however, they had already been travelling for 3 weeks. It was interesting to be able to talk to someone from another country and have a lot of thing in common with them.. such as the weather haha. Once the train arrived in Siena the rest of the day did not go as well as it could as the hotel I had booked was somewhat hard to find and my phone with my map on it had died earlier oops. So in order to get to the hotel and settled for the night as it was my first day in Italy and I was very tired I went and purchased a European charger and a rechargeable portable charger as well, which happens to be my new favourite thing as it comes in very handy! After a restful sleep I went to the train station to catch the train to Florence the next stop on my journey. While I was waiting for my train this old italian man probably in is late 80's or 90's (as he showed me a picture of him in World War Two) started talking to me. He was a very interesting old fella, no matter how many times I said I did not speak italian he continued to talk to me. He kept telling me I was "bella" which was cute and nice of him. Even though I didn't really have a chance to get to see anything in Siena it was a great opportunity to learn how to deal with your plans not going exactly how you expected.
