Hi everyone ;0)
While James is experiencing his first time on an Indian toilet, i thought i would write to tell you all that we got here safetly (just - read on to find out more).
And for those who asked about the flight (Jane), Kingfisher is india's answer to Virgin. We even got napiary and a menu with dinner. ooh eeerrrr.
Once we arrived at Mumbai airport we were greeted by a man who looked suspiciously like the dad from East is East who showed us to our taxi even though we were already heading that way. He then demanded a tip of "London coins" as he put it. We refused.
2 minutes later the taxi came to a halt whilst the driver had to pick get a stamp (i dont think it was a mail stamp) and a boy appeared at my window begging for money, even calling me "kind lady". Little did he know that this Cruella de Ville impression is for real so he got nothing. He should have tried James's window.
After the long flight and in the basking sun, the car horns did nothing to wake me, however our 4 seater taxi being nearly sandwiched between a tuk tuk and a coach did. Seat belts not working and air con translated as "windows down", this was not the passage to India I was expecting or was it?
Once you pass through the slums and toll road, mumbai becomes reasonably normal, if you think walking your cow through the town normal.
We finally arrived at our hotel
