Losing track again of writing this blog. Have been to Cochabamba, Sucre and Potosi since I last wrote in La Paz. Apparently all the rioting was down to a referendum that has now been sorted. We did pass thousands of people marching into the centre of La Paz, was very exciting (pics to follow). Walked up 1250 steps to visit the statue of Christ. This is difficult at the outset let alone doing it at 4000 metres above sea level. But I did it, and then we had to walk back down again! hhmmmnn. Have had quite a quiet time really as the inevitable happened, yes I got a stomach upset. It had to happen once I suppose and I have been quite lucky so far. We were staying in a nice little town (Sucre) in good accommodation so all in all okay really. We did visit an orphange here which was amazing, although a little upsetting when they asked you when you were coming back. It was well run and the kids were happy which is not always the case. Spent the morning playing and taking pictures, or rather my new friend taking them for me as he had taken a shine to my camera. So along with the steps, I also did something I dont plan to do again but was a good experience which was visiting the silver mines. Got given a overalls, boots , a helmet and a torch (again pics to follow) Had to bend dwon to get through some of the gaps and even crawl through the rubble at some points. Amazing to believe that people have to work here day in day out. Off to salt flats tomorrow which are apparetnly amazing so more later xx
