Early travels to California
Sunnyvale, California
So this is my first entry.. I am so new to this that I am still not quite sure I've got the hang of what the hell I am even meant to be writing.
I originally made this to plan and document my future trip to America but then I figure, Hey why not just talk about everywhere I have been.
My first foreign holiday, 1997 and my second in 2000. (Yes, I know my photo seems inappropriate, but that is my asleep on my holiday with my new friend Miss Minnie Mouse!) It is strange what you still remember 16 years later!
We visited and based our trips in Sunnyvale, San Francisco.. what a beautiful place it is. My dad's sister Pauline (recently Polly) lives out there with her husband and 4 children.. so it was always exciting to visit them, see the beautiful house they owned, play with Buster the dog and swim in their private pool! I was and still am so fond of my family there, I loved spending time with them, even as a child, going to play crazy golf with my cousin Becky and her husband Dave.. I hope in the future I will be able to meet them again. They are all so kind, accepting and successful, I think that plays a huge part in my enthusiam and future aspirations that revolve around the US.
Admittidely I do not remember an awful lot of my first holiday there.. but I have been told a caused a bit of a stir at times. Telling mum I wanted to get out of the pool and then jumping in when she has returned inside, missing a step and almost drowning. Mother hen was to the rescue, fully clothed and diving in to save me! What can I say, I like to live on the wild side? ;)
My second trip I remember alot more of, it was a two week trip. Me, Dad, Mum and Joe headed to Sunnyvale first for a week and then headed down to LA for the second week. We stayed in a hotel near the Disney Park and went there.. I was too young to appreciate the big scary rides so I stuck to the Dumbo ride and the Peter Pan ride.. Oh to be young again!
We went to Universal Studios just after the Pokemon 2000 Movie was released and I was so happy to be able to see it before everyone back home. I remember Mum and Dad paying loads to subscribe Joe up to a Digimon club and it all ended up being a con where he never received anything again - haha, oh investing abroad! I miss family holidays and everyone getting alone but I guess with time everyone gets on with there own life. More than happy to explore the world with others but so nice to have such a cherished memory in such a beautiful place!
