Siem Reap, Cambodia

This is my first attempt at a blog.
In my preparation for travel I have learned a lot by reading other peoples travel experiences I thought I should at least make a start on documenting my experiences.
This is the longest trip I have been able to take since starting working.Three weeks is a long time to be away from the office, so I am envious of the travelers taking a year to travel. The flip side is that for three weeks it is possible to stay in decent hotels rather than the guesthouses favored by the backpackers making their savings stretch for a year.
We started our trip by flying in to Bangkok then going to Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, Saigon, Can Thou, Chau Doc, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and then leaving from Singapore.
In planning the trip the two things that were a must were Halong Bay and the river journey from Chau Doc in Vietnam to Phnom Penh, so selecting the other locations was like suduko finding the correct number of days in each place in between. We finished in Singapore, because Changhi airport is my favorite airport. One of the main reasons is the Transit hotel, which rents rooms by the hour, which is perfect when you have a late arrival or an early flight. But more about Changi later.
