Hello again!!!! In Harare atm!!! After traveling through Mozambique and bush camping for one night we crossed over the border yesterday morning, wasn't quite as bad as we had expected being which was good and only took us 3 hours to clear it all!! Zimbabwe seems a lot more developed than other countries we have been in so far, although it still has many problems. You need official receipts from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to prove that you have purchased currency at the official exchange rate of $1US : $101,000ZIM. However the Black Market rate is $1US : $400,000!!!! How crazy is that, I am officially well over a millionaire!!! They have run out of bank notes so everything is printed on old notes that have expired! Nothing in the shops have prices because the rates change by so much daily. We are gonna stay in Harare for another night before heading to the Great Zimbabwe ruins, apparently they aren't that great, but will pop along to have a look. Then we are gonna head north to Gweru, you can go Lion Walking and ride and swim with the Elephants!!!! Really looking forward to that!! I think it will be one of the highlights of the trip, as long as it doesn't decide it wants to go under the water!! As we are in such a huge city gonna try and find a McDonalds, got a real craving for something familiar, still haven't seen one on our travels yet!!! Gets so cold here at night, was down to zero degrees last night, really should have packed a few more winter clothes! When we were in Blantyre we went for a wander and this really kind local lady took us on a mission to find a second hand shop. Got two jumpers and this really nice patchwork blanket, so was a bit cosier last night although it is still freezing when you are in a tent!! Should have really thought that winter in Africa would still be cold!!!! Oh well you live and learn!!! Gonna head off on my mission for a McDonalds in a min!!!
