Alison's African Adventure
Hello eveyone!!!
Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunny weather!! It is raining over here now!
Still having a fantastic time!!! Not long to go now until i come home.
I haven't really been that busy since i last updated in Swakopmund. After staying in the hostel up there we travelled south to the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon. It was really spectacular to see, we got dropped off to watch the sun setting and then had a cheese and wine evening at the top of the gorge. Kinda sureal seeing as we have been slumming it for the last couple of months and then get to eat at tables, although still all wearing our skanky clothes!!!
So after that we went to the Orange River and camped there on the border with South Africa before crossing over a couple of days ago. We had to say goodbye to one of the girls on the truck which was really sad because she couldnt get her visa sorted.
We then went to Citrusdal to see the hot springs, it was so nice to have some hot water, we spent hours just lounging in the pools before spending our final night in the tent. i gave it a good kicking before finally getting rid of the damned thing!!! So over sleeping in the tent now. We arrived in Stellenbosch yesterday, its a lovely little town with heaps of history and architecture, really strange because it looks a bit like England with oak tree lined suburbs and white washed buildings, the clouds in the sky also make it look more like home!!
I am all booked up now for my Shark Cage Dive tomorrow which should be awesome, apparently there are loads of sharks around at this time of year so i am looking forward to that. afterwards they aer going to drop us off at our hostel in Cape Town which is only an hours drive away from here. Just hope we get some good weather to see Table Mountain in all its glory!!!
See you all soon Ali x
