Well, here I am, back in Australia.
I mentioned a couple of times whilst away that I was sick. I started to feel ok in my last few days and was hopeful I would return to Australia in reasonable health. Instead, by the time I arrived in LA from Nashville I felt a resurgence of symptoms. By the time I landed in Seoul from LA, I was advised that if my condition did not improve by boarding time, I would not be flying.
They have a doctor at the hole in the wall pharmacy next to gate 28 in Incheon Airport (useful info if you ever find yourself there & in need). I had a quick consult and was handed some pills and some sachets. No clue what I was given. But the instructions were clear. Take 1 pill. Then, tip the contents of the sachet in my mouth and rinse down with water. It was a sachet of foul tasting granuals. I can't complain too much, as within 25 mins my temp started to come down and I was allowed to board the plane for my final leg home. By this time I was so sick and I was desperate to be home. I was very glad to not be medically quarantined in Korea.
Today I saw the doctor. As we all know, I'm not one to do things by halves. I have managed to acquire two nasties: something viral and something bacterial. And of course, they are USA strains - different to Australia, so extra special me. I've been given meds for the bacterial, rest for the viral. No work for me tomorrow. I should notice improvements by Tuesday-Wednesday. Here's hoping that I recover quickly, busy time of year at work and I've things that need to be done.
