Rectifying the mistake made on my previous visit to Cape Town I awoke to a clear day so headed straight for Table mountain rather than leave it to another day and risk it being shrouded in cloud.
I had booked my tickets on line so avoided half the queue and spent the ret of the wait chatting to my Welsh neighbours. The journey to the top and the visit to the top was excellent. The views were stunning and exploring the Table was well worth the 4-year wait!
I took one of the free walking tours which was very good - learnt more about Rock Dassies than I previously knew.
The afternoon was spent exploring Kirstenbosch Botancial Gardens. It was a very warm day so strolled around with frequent breaks to enjoy the views. Favourite things to see were the Cyads and the dinosaur sculptures and the Boomslang tree canopy walk.
In the evening I went to the American restaurant and watched the rugby - falling in with a very drunk local woman who was having man problems!
Next day I headed to the centre of town to join up with two free walking tours. In the morning I took the Historic tour and in the afternoon the Bo'Kap district tour. Both walks were excellent taken by a local CT girl who had a great knowledge of the history of the area and was also happy to talk about her own exepriences growing up in South Africa.
The evening was spent in the same restaurant as last night watching the rugby again - the last match I would catch before heading to the land of no TV - Na'an Kuse.
Up very early on the Monday to return the car and fly to Namibia on the 6.30am flight - not long until I am reunited with baboons!
