Visited an ostrich farm and learn all I ever need to know about them! Apparently you can't tell male from female until they are 14 months old. Tried for the caves but crazy busy so booked for the next day and set forth to tackle the Swartzberg pass - 27km of gravel road rising in switchbacks to over 1500m in altitude. Arrived last night at my next accommodation Zoete Inval hostel - a great improvement on Stellenbosch. Rina was lovely and gave lots of advice and the place had a cat called Dotty - must be good!
