I dont think i could have asked for a better flight to Hong Kong got on the plane, closed my eyes just before taking off then woke up with my ears popping as we started to land! I spoke to an American girl and apparently the hostesses got the passengers to do synchronised seat dancing and i missed the whole thing.
I found the hostel fine and on walking into my 8 bed dorm met 2 English girls Abi and Sarah who are backpacking together around Asia, Australia and North America, getting ready for a night out, so after a very quick wash, 1 hour after i landed i went out on the town. I was unaware that the rugby 7s were taking place in Hong Kong this week, it is a massive worldwide event so everything was expensive and there are people everywhere!!
Waking up the next morning was hard as we were all a bit worse for wear, Hong Kong have vodka jelly syringes which weren't too expensive...but trying to embrace the country i went on a tram to the highest peak of Hong Kong (Victoria peak) and made it to the top, unfortunately due to expected thunderstorms the mist was so heavy it was hard to see anything but it was a good experience all the same. The thunderstorm was unbelievable as the humidity was so high but it didnt seem to cool.
I met the girls for dinner after a much needed sleep and found a little chinese restaurant tucked away serving satay chicken and rice and noodles it definitely hit the spot. I have had a good time with the girls i met but i cant say i love hong kong that much. It is very expensive and so similar in most ways to England basically your average city im glad i stayed in Shanghai longer and am no looking forward to India.

Maureen Wow that does sound like a good flight! how long was it to get to Hong Kong? How hot is it over there? you should send some of the heat this way we definitely need it lol. Its a shame about the mist ruining your view but still sounds brilliant! is the food much different to china there? how long are you planning on staying in Hong Kong for? Everything sounds so amazing, that's a shame its not that much different to any other city but knowing you, you will still make the most of it and have a fab time! Still loving reading these, ive started spending my lunch breaks doing my usual Alice update and im loving hearing all you have been up to! Take care!!
