Adjanta hotel had provided us with a tour guide for the day, so we met him and Mahesh outside the hotel early morning and went to Amber Fort. We had the option of going up on an elephant but decided not to as we'd read the treatment of them was not great and I didn't like how they were poked with metal rods last time I did it. Whilst at Amber Fort we bumped into Antonia and she came and joined our tour whilst we were there. After amber fort we said bye to Antonia and said we'd meet up for dinner again that evening. Next on the trip was city palace where we also visited a textiles museum which displayed lots of the Maharajas clothes, and some really wide pj bottoms with tiny legs? There was also an artists hall there so we watched another demonstration of minature art and one of wood carving.
As part of the tour the driver told us it was compulsory for him to take us to a textiles shop but that it was very expensive and we should look but not buy anything. He then told us that after he would take us to an industrial estate where the textiles are printed. This was much more interesting and we got to meet the people printing the fabrics and were given a free snack!! However when i was eating it I did see a mouse run across the floor...but my standards have dropped alot so i carried on eating it. Later that evening we went back to the restaurant we visited the night before, and took Antonia as well. We managed to escape the dancing after lots of persuasion from the indian dancers and i had a veggie sizzler which smoked everyone out with chips and veg in a tomato sauce.
