Introduction

I'm guessing if you are reading this you already know me. But just incase you don't I'm Alice, I'm 22 and live in Preston, Lancashire. At the moment I work full time at The Football League in the player admin department. But soon all that will change... In May I start a pre-reg nursing diploma at University of Manchester and move in with my boyfriend Darren in Bury.

Before all this I decided it would be a great time to go travelling. Me and Darren had always talked about possibly doing a months trip before I went to Uni. But i thought, why not finish work early and do something by myself first? There was nothing holding me back, i could really take all the time i wanted seen as i was finishing my job. Poor Darren doesnt have this option as he has to go back to work after! So i thought about it and decided to do some voluntary work abroad.

So in 2 and a half weeks i start my trip. I fly into Colombo, Sri Lanka and from here go on to Galle on the South West coast where I will be living with a host family and working for a month in a Hospital! After this month I fly onto Hong Kong where i meet Darren. We are doing a tour with Gap adventures which starts in Beijing and goes down through China, into Laos and ends up in Bangkok. I cant wait!
