I have finally left the czech republic now, arriving by train in Krakow at 6:30 this morning. Since my last blog, I stayed in Prague for a couple more nights, seeing Athen, Sam and Ross off the Saturday before last, to be replaced by Joe. Along with Reb still we had another night in Prague then got the train down South to Cesky Krumlov. It was the absolutely lovely their and the nicest hostel of the trip so far- it was almost like a home from home!! We didn't have very good weather, but still had a look around the town and castle and went rafting along the river (this was very cold and very wet). Also found an amazing vegetarian restaurant that we went to everyday. Back Prague, had to say goodbye to Reb on Thursday and to Joe on Saturday, to be replaced with Mum and Dad. Stayed in a really nice hotel with highlights including a hot bath, a real towel and a lamp by my bed. Had a school trip style weekend, packing in EVERY sight Prague has to offer and was so lovely to have catch up with news and almost felt like I was back home. A bit of an emotional fairwell and then caught the train at 9:30 last night. Managed to get in a cabin with an aussie girl, so both had space to lie down and get a few hours sleep.
Thankyou to everybody that has sent news and things for my birthday....I have opened and read some of it, but still have some left for the day. So a really big thankyou, it is all so appreciated. Lots of love.xxxxxx

Mum A school trip weekend?? Not like my usual school trips, I can assure you! For those of you reading this who havn't been to Prague it really is a most interesting city; we walked almost every cobbled street and looked at every historical sight.Lots of interesing architecture. We ate much of the local foods with Adrian and Alice trying the "must have" dumplings, cabbage soup, goulash and Czech beer. Lots of people watching from the outdoor cafes as I drank coffee kept me entertained! We lwent to a string concert one evening and listened to Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Bach ; beautiful. Alice looks very well and is becoming a confident and assured traveller. So, Alice, you can always rely on your mother to fill in the details! It really was a lovely mini-break, although so hard to leave you. We're looking forward to seeing some photos on this blog (for those of us who don't 'do' Facebook.) Take lots of care. Love and hugs from us all xxxxxxxxxxx
Arntee Elaine Thanks fo your lovely postcard Alice. Sounds like you are still having an amazing time. Uncle T and I have just had a few days in the Lake District. You might be impressed to learn that we are off to look at buying a laptop and a henhouse. Could do with you and your expertise...for the laptop I mean. Sounds like you all had a lovely weekend in Prague, tho I had to smile regarding your "school outing" comment. Your dad tells me what an accomplished traveller you have become. I hope you are not having to rough it too much, your having a bedside lamp bothered me abit. Take care and go carefully. Lots of Love from all in Mabbottland.XXXXX
MABBOTTLAND ****HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALICE**** We hope you have a lovely day and eventually find Tom (typical bloke) or more to the point he finds you. Thinking about you and missing you. Lots of Love and Hugs XXXXX
darren Happy Birthday Alice! According to your itinerary you should be somewhere in Russia - so have a fantastic birthday today, and steer well clear of the Russian Vodka! Though if you're still in Prague, I'm sure you'll have a much more civilised celebration :) I hope you are enjoying your travels and having the time of your life. Lots of Love, Darren, Sarah, Woody, Lola and the Zakmeister
