Alice in Wonderland....literally!!
Managed to gate crash a tour leaving my hotel two days ago, as they were all going down to where I was planning, and a few other extras. Tour was full, but even so, they let me in!! woohoo....I'm not a loner anymore hehe. LEft Bangkok on Sunday evening, and took a 12 hour sleeper train down south to Surat Thani. The sleeper train was an incredible experience....we had beds, and a fan to keep us 'cool' in the sweltering heat. Kept being woken up by all the snoring, adn the occasional bug landing on my face!! mmmm nice hey!?!? Upe until falling asleep though, the staff cam around offering beer to everybody, so we had a little party costing us about 40p each!! Woken up at 6am, then arrived into Surat Thani at 6.45. Found a nice little cafe for brekkie, ane then boarded the non-air condidtioned bus for a 2 hour jouney to our first stop. There are 12 of us in all, Aussies, Canadian, Kiwis and Brits, and all a great laugh. Our accomodation for the first 2 nights is in the Khao Lak National Park on the mainland. Our rooms are like little tree houses which are awesome, even though some of us have found ourselves with leeches attched to us at some point!! Tommy, our tour guide is really helpful adnhis English is perfect so he is always sorting us out with cool activites to amuse ourselves with. After lunch today, we went tubing. All of us sat in our own rubber rings (like the inners of tyres) and floated for 2 hours down the river, over white water bits and through caves. Was such a laugh, and probably gonna go again tomorrow. We are also planning on going to 'chill' (which I can do so well!!) at the resevoir around here, and if the tropical storms stay away (we've had two already) then we can go on an elephant treck!! So so excited about that!! Anyway, we leave on Wednesday to go to Koh Samui to the most luxurious resort, and then after that to another island called Khao Tao, and then some of us will split off to go to Koh Phangnan for the full moon party!! Will keep the updates coming, and apologise again for this being exactly what I write in emails. The computers are seriously slow down south. Photos will be coming soon, I promise!!
