We have now moved on from Uruguay and are now in Brzail! We had a lovely time staying with Rose´s friend, mostly going to the beach and drinking cocktails which was a bit of luxury in the middle of all our hostel stays! I went on a really nice cycle ride along the coast with Rose´s friend´s dad while everyone else went out for a jog which was nice and flat and breezy and not too tiring but the views were great. We also visited a place called Casapueblo which is this massive house all built by a South American artist Carlos Paez Vilaró with loads of his artwork inside which was amazing and unusual as all the architechture is strange, all very white walls with smooth corners and nothing very angular (see picture). In one of the rooms we actually bumped into atrtist which was a stroke of luck and had a big photo taken with him (but not on my camera so I haven´t got a copy yet). He was very friendly and has has a really interesting life (his son was one of the survivors from the famous plane crash in the Andes among other interesting facts).
From Punta Del Este we got a bus back to Montevideo and from there our 11 hour bus journey to Porto Alegre, Brazil. The coach was surprisingly very luxurious with loads of legroom and seats that reclined almost fully with cushioned pull out footrests so we actually managed to get loads of sleep! Porto Alegre is not very nice or attractive, more just a stopover point I think as it´s in a good location for coaches to get to and from other places. We stayed here last night in the ´Ritz Hotel´which didn´t live up to it´s name but was fine! And we´re getting a coach out again this evening as we have done everything there is to do here already! We are moving on to Foz do Iguazu (the Iguazu Falls) where we have a very nice looking hostel with a swimming pool and it´s very cheap http://www.paudimar.com.br/eng/ We can´t wait to get out of the city and see some amazing nature and wildlife. I´m not sure if we´ll get internet at the next hostel so next update may be after we´ve seen the falls. Hope you are all keeping well, thanks for the comments it´s nice to hear from you all! :o)
