Last night we went out for a meal to a restaurant recommended by the lonely planet and it was literally the worst meal I have ever eaten. The restaurant itself wasn´t even nice but we thought there must be something about it for it to be recommended so we stuck it out despite strip lighting and warm white wine. However the steak I ordered was so disgusting I only ate half, all stringy and covered in fat I´m not even convinced it was beef as I´ve never seen it that consitency before! And the sauce was all watery and to top it off I found a long black hair in it so we both stopped eating. They gave it to me free in the end but not much consolation and was feeling really sick this morning and haven´t been right all day. I´m getting over it though! Today was good, we walked to Av. 9 Julio - apparently the widest avenue in the world but it wasn´t very nice, just loads of traffic and death defying races across the road the cross the 6 lanes of traffic, just in one direction! There is a green man but you´re still not quite sure what´s going to happen with drivers over here! then we did the most touristy thing possible and got the open top bus complete with commentary which was good as we saw parts of the city we hadn´t yet come across. We got off halfway and went on a big mission to find our next hostel in a different part of town (Palermo Viejo) and it´s much nicer than the one we´re in now as it has a garden complete with hammocks and a living area with sofas and a washing machine although the dorm is still small. We´re going there on Wednesday as there´s still a bit more to see here. So now we´re back at the hostel and exhausted, out for dinner again maybe back to the restaurant of the first night as we know for sure it´s a good one! Again we haven´t uploaded any photos as I´m going to do lots at a time in big chunks, we did see a building today like the one above but I don´t think it´s the same!
