The last couple of days in Vic. Falls have been some of the best on the trip so far! After the helicopter ride over the falls, we headed for a rather nervous lunch before getting a lift to the gorge where our adrenaline day was taking place. When we first saw the gorge I think most of us would have been quite happy to jump back in the truck and head to camp, but we didn't get that option! FIrst we did the flying fox, in which you're harnessed to a wire stretched right across the gorge, and have to run off a platform and sort of fly superman style as far as you can! Luckily, the platform was boiling hot in the afternoon heat, so most people ran off it because they couldn't stand still long enough not to! Second was the zipline, similar to the flying fox except you're in a seated position and it's a lot faster- over 100kmph if there are two of you zipped together! FInally, the worst of all- the gorge swing. This starts off like a bungy jump- a 70m freefal, but then the rope tautens and you're in a 120m swing inside the gorge. I honestly did not think I'd be doing that one, but I did and I absolutely loved it! Compared to a lunch in which barely anyone spoke, at dinner spirits (and adrenaline) where very high! The next day was an early start for the lion walk. We were with two thirteen month old cubs- which were about as high as my waist. At first they were really playful, and we couldn't get too close but as the morning wore on they tired out, in the heat, and we were able to pose with them for photos, walk with them and stroke them. In the afternoon, all the girls headed off for a pedicure which was very different to everything else we'd done so far but no less enjoyable! Tomorrow we cross the border into Botswana, and head to the Okavango delta.
