We decided we had to venture to the top of Chicago so headed to Willis tower on our second day. It is the tallest building in the USA and named after the London insurance brokers (where I'd quite like to work) who own 3 of the floors - the largest floor space out of any company there meaning they get to name the building. Americans insist on calling it "the former sears building" - its name prior to Willis taking over.
It was a clear day and we could see for miles (four states away apparently). We stood on the glass viewing platforms and could see all the way to the streets below our feet. Some people were pretty scared...
At the top you could still buy food and get endless models of the building. We decided to miss on the fudge bars and took the 60 second lift to the ground floor.
