Hi everyone! Hope your all well and enjoying yourself in crappy england whilst im having the time of my life in africa! Ha ha!
Well dont know where to start about telling you how fantastic this trip has been so far, i absolutley love it (well apart from the night it pissed it down in Kenya and all our stuff got soaking wet!)
Our first stop was Kenya where we took several game drives into the maaisi mara and saw almost every animal thats in lion king! The hightlight had to be watching a cheetah kill a wilderbeast right infront of us which apparently is a very rare sight (did feel bit sorry for it though!) Its crazy seeing the massai tribes with their spears, living in their mud huts and the little kids as young as 5 out hurding the goats and cows on their own! They do your head in abit though begging and trying to make you buy stuff. I also learnt very quickly not to take photos without giving them money as one almost smacked me!!!
After Kenya we took a long drive to tanzania (where i am now) I much prefer it in this country as its alot more greener and a not as poor a country as kenya. In tanzania we went to the serengetti and the ngorro Gorro crater which is the 8th natural woner of the world (look at me knowing my stuff!) We camped out in the wild fight on the edge of it which was just amazing, although quite cold cos we were high up! If you've ever watched the Last Samari thats the only way i can desribe seeing all the tribes here (apart from africans instead of chinks and no Tom Cruise!!) Honesltly i didnt think people exist like that anymore. Its an experience that ill never forget!
After that we camped at a gorgeous little campsite in the woods with a river next to it. After a game of volleyball we all dived in it to cool off then a guy came over and kindly told us there were crocodiles in it.... well ive never moved so quickly in my life, i absolutley s*** myself!! Here we also had a Village walk and saw all the little kids, so cute!
Were now in Zanzibar, I never want to leave this place, its just paradise. White sandy beaches with palm trees! Were staying in these bungalow type things that are right on the beach and when the tide comes in you can jump out of your window into the sea! Last night i had a well deserved bottle of wine, few beers and shots of sambuccas..... well a few hours later we were all dancing our t*** off in some african club/bar, proper funny! Think stephan carried me home bout 3ish! Woke up with a sore head this morn, but a dip in the sea has sorted me out!
The group is really nice. Although some of them are bit quiet and boring! The is one lad called vince though who livens things up. He's proper funny and does everything that your not meant to! ! Me ans Stephen are getting on really well too, he's like my big brother and proper looks after me so dont be worring mum! (although im sure i do his head in sometimes!!)
Well thats all so far but ill keep you all updated when ive been to the next stop but in the mean time its a few more cocktails and lobster for me in paradise (hope your all very jealous!!)
Keep in touch cos it really does make my day when i read my emails so keep the gossip coming. Big hug and kiss to you all (an extra special one to you mum!) Missing you so so much but really am having the time of my life travelling. Just wish you wa all here doing it with me.
Take care, lots of love
Al
