10 days till lift off leaves me excited and almost anxious. Tomorrow will be a hard day of prep involving packing, photocopying, sending letters to banks... And wrapping Christmas presents.
I have just spent the day in York with my friend Kanga to retrieve my international Hock-quest brief. Namely 10 numbered envelopes to enrich my travels. I can open the first one when I enter Japan and I am very excited for that moment (I will blatantly be opening this on the plane when I have copious reading time to fill). I also received the wonderful card featured above from another friend, Panda.
During my travels I will also be juggling the challenge of getting accepted onto a maths teacher training course. I had planned to be set before I left, but alas, life has thrown me a curveball as it does. If anyone reading his is high up in the teaching world please get in touch!
• All jabs are done and maker one is bought, just deet left to get...
• Finished reading he Life of Pi in time to see the movie before I fly...
• Money card arrived. Activation required...
• Post card addresses obtained...
• I have fantastic sounding places to stay in Tokyo and Perth to look forward to as well as seeing family and friends left, right and centre...
• Japan rail pass has left me right on the edge of my budget for the rest of the journey...
Finally, I would like to request suggestions of activities and iBooks to download for the first and longest flights of my trip? Please and thank you!
Erin Sounds like you only have friends named after animals... :p You should work through some good old books, Catch 22 and 1984 are good, though maybe space them out with something lighter. I love 'A confederacy of dunces' so maybe try that, it's random but great! Dec 18, 2012
Rachel fight club is a brilliant book - better than the film in fact. well worth a read. and if you havent read them, try the steig larrson trilogy (girl with the dragon tattoo etc) - they are awesome and fairly chunky so should keep you going for a while.... Dec 18, 2012
Lynette Stick with the classics--they tend to be free for eReaders! :) x Dec 23, 2012
