Stefan dries dishes with the auto 3000 blow drier in Cowell yesterday. Not very effective. The town was nice and inhabited mainly by old people. A really long high street with nice old buildings which were well cared for. The girls toilets were also used as 'crap art' gallery with pot puri, etc. The gents were not blessed with the same luxury.
Our group dynamics have become hilarious. We refer to each other by nationality rather than name, we wind each other (mainly ze German) up regularly and work as a well oiled machine when we stop to put up camp and make dinner.
However for the next two nights we are in real beds in a hostel!!! However the people who run this place are a bit ditzy. We had to repeat what we were doing 4 times before we got our point over. And this was English-English so there wasn't even a language barrier... But we have a fridge freezer outside our room and the girls cooked dinner for us... The spiciest red curry I've ever faced. So I added a half pint of milk, a spoonful of sugar and doubled my rice to create curry porridge. It's strange how the flavour can be so good yet the spice sooooooo hot!
Last night was great fun, although it took a while to find a place because we were low on fuel and the place we wanted to stop originally was closed for camping and there was a cheeky old woman on the corner who will tell on you if you stay there but will lat you stay at her place for $20... Rude! We had the lay-by to ourselves and there were no red back spiders to worry about. We drank some wine, drank some gin, pumped some tunes and danced on the table avoiding the pots and pans we hadn't cleared from dinner yet.

• Can see a LOT of similarities between Oz and England. Not least the weather...
• Why does it always rains on me?...
• Plans are made to go to Mardi Gras in Sydney, very exciting...
Food: I had a really nice double dip cherry ripe yesterday because it was on special offer at the servo. It is a really chocolatey bounty with cherry instead of coconut.
Fact: South Australia is the festival state.
