On day 41 as previously mentioned in yesterday's blog, I arrived in Sydney at 7am this morning and walked down Pitt Street to meet Nelly who was going to be my new landlady as I managed to find a flat on Gumtree that had a sunny room available, and although it is only 3x3 metres so pretty small, it has a bed, a good view and a chester draws and that is all I need. Obviously when I arrived in the flat it was pretty early so none of my new housemates were awake yet, but eventually I met them all throughout the day and I have a good variety of new friends from all over the globe. There is Denise from Italy, Loic from France, Chris from Spain, Miho from Japan, Kim from South Korea, Meredith from Peru, Dave from Bath/Bristol and Holly from Nottingham, so it was great to meet all of them and learn about their experiences from their travels and what jobs they have had/have now. Holly was planning on going to the swimming pool that was downstairs so I decided to tag along and explore the facilities we have on our doorstep. I headed to bed pretty early as I was quite tired from a long day especially as I only managed to get a couple of hours sleep on the bus. But very happy to be here and have a place to stay.
