Hi everyone!
This is just a little update on our trip since we have arrived in Swaziland
First of all we would both like to say a big thanks to everyone who has posted messages on our site, it has made us both very happy to know that people are thinking about us whilst we are away
Matthew - The monkey order is fine, we can get you a young and virile specimin or old and flaccid - your choice
Sue - I dont know if you knew that all messages went on the public forum, maybe you were just boasting, but we would all like to know how the date went
As a little update - we decided to stay in Swaziland for a couple of days which has tunrned out to be a brilliant decision. The Swaziland backpackers hostel is really relaxed and even though we had to stay in shared dorms last night we both slept great (thanks for your concern Matthew!). Today we went to the local marken in Manzini which is where traders go to barter for their goods to sell and even though wer were the only white people there, everyone was so kind and we got some great bargains (the parcel is coming home soon!) After a healthey breakfast of chicken and rice served by the local women, we moved on to a couple more trading stores including a candle merchants where they were handmaking elephant shaped candles (please see the following pics) and then for a dip in a local waterfall. Being the only brave ones, Us two plus another couple called Jemma and Lee ventured into the freezing waters for what could only be described as an envigorating, if not life threatening experience (it was flipping cold, but lots of fun). After drying off and getting Alec's heart started again, we visited a tribal village where the Swazili tribe danced, sang beautiful songs and showed us around their village. After this, we came back to the backpackers and Alec and Lee made tea for everyone (no illnesses to report yet, toilets are on red alert)
The plan for tomorrow is to venture into a local town for an explore and then in the afternoon we are going to visit an orphanage to help teach some local children english, maths and Rocky storylines.
Hope youre all well, lots of love, Alec and Debs xxxxxxxxx
