Very, very soon we'll be off on a 'Grandadventure' :) (some of my ex-students may recall a poem I used to love that used that line).

Two more sleeps and then the adventure begins - I get to return to the golden paradise isle in the Caribbean, Barbados, where I lived as a child and where my daddy is buried. For the first time I will see his grave.
We are giddy with excitement of course.
There's lots to think about for a trip like this -
Planes, boats & trains booked; check.
Hotel sussed & secured; check.
Holiday clothing purchased; check.
Cases packed; check.
Funny money sorted; check.
Camera batteries charged; check.
Children supplied with all above information so they won't worry about us while we're away... almost check.
Travel blog to record the event set up; check!

I wasn't going to do this, but it saves me writing about it with an actual pen and carrying all the notes about with me and I am hoping to have some access to the outside world on my travels so I hope this will be a great idea.
And before anyone gets the colly-wobbles about me telling the world I'm not at my home whilst I'm, y'know, away, it's all fine and dandy. Someone is going to be home all the time we're not. Take that, Buggla Bill :)

Excuse me for a mo whilst I go repack those cases and then try really, really hard to get some zzz's - it's going to be fabulous!
