Day 27: Sunday 13th March (By AJ).
Luang Prabang - 1km night market and Kuang Si Waterfall.
Long bus journey today along a very windy bumpy mountain road, with fantastic scenery through the little mountain villages at a high altitude. That evening we walked into the town and ate along 'street market street', all you can fit on a plate for less than a pound! Fantastic! There was also a 1km road night market with beautiful handmade crafts and amazing fruit and oreo shakes! The town looked so pretty at night with lots of candles in the cafes along the roadside.
Day 28: Monday 14th March
The boys set off early this morning on bikes to cycle the 28km to Kung Si waterfall. The rest of us got a tuk tuk (I was gutted as really wanted to cycle but wasn't feeling too great). At the bottom of the falls was a bear sanctuary, with lots of information and very cute bears! We then got to the lagoon pools, which looked like paradise!! The boys jumped straight in after their cycle ride, but the water really was freezing! The big waterfall was beautiful, set against lots of trees and plants. We climbed right to the top but obviously couldn't really see much apart from the water flowing over the edge!
That afternoon, we went for a walk along the river then had another buffet along 'street market street' and more oero shakes!
