Backdrop: The feast of St
Canadian Embassy Now open.
Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs now open. Restoration of diplomatic immunity.
I met the rest of Claire's family. What a sweet bunch. And her dad, reminded me of my dad. He wanted to show me everything! Showed me his old brownie cam intact with box, Claire's paintings, photographs he took and even his 3D TV! Being among a family of females, I'm sure he took a bit of a shine to me being a guy. My mom did the same when Claire came since she always wanted a girl.
After heading out, we took a boat across to Valetta, the capital city (such a different feel from the night before). Many historical wonders from the flat steps that were very common for the soldiers of the time, the presidential building, the commemorative WW bell. This is considered to also be the old city. (I know Claire, more refining will probably be needed :P).
I also had Kinnie, local Maltese soda!
We then drove to the first of many beaches in this part of the journey. Wow (need a better word). Passed through what I thought were mountains but in fact were man made garbage dumps. What a spectacular sight it was. Dogging around in her little red Nissan convertible inferred many more barbie doll jokes.
Splashing into the water, it was probably my first time in a long time that I've swam/at a beach/in seawater. It was a magnificent bay sunset view. By the end, I made her paranoid by offering to leave the water first. Drove her mad!
We then jetted to Mdina where we thought we were to see the fiest celebrations. But instead we saw a live orchestra and nothing really else unfortunately. But, we were able to stroll around the city to see much of the old yet elegant buildings on the highest part of Malta. The stroll was quiet which is why the name quiet city is its nickname.
In the evening, and after having found some very fatty fried chicken, we quickly rushed back to Sliema to change to get ready to go clubbing in Paceville. Made fun of Claire since her dress looked like you could go to a wedding :P
We started off with dozen-tray shots of rhum with cinnamon and orange. It then turned to my impressing (may be exaggerated) with dozen shots of vodka orange. Meeting two friends of Claire Sharron (who were kinda shy about the drinks but showing off the new guy she is dating) and Patty (Claire's long time close friend and that Claire made fun of how I pronounced her name).
After the girls felt "energized" (ah some things don't ever change with alcohol), we started off at the club inside but moved to another club and finished at a third bar. #claire saying hello to random dude and bailey shots.
It was a good time to be chilling with her gfs. Honestly, all these years of engineering have made me miss such things like club hopping, rushing around with girls and such and such. Okok enough.
