Toured Vatican
Met Canadians from the yellow from the tour yesterday and their friend sean at breakfast.
Phoebe Saebagyo from Australia
Mel from Melbourne (lone traveller, blur dress).
Krystel from Chem eng Newfoundland (IRON RING)!
Gellatto authentic
Panini (rigorgiomento).
Three different pizzas
Two Italian beers.
When I spoke to Mel (blue dress, ray-bans), I discovered that she was a lone traveller (one of many). Her being the first lone traveller I met, I asked her how long and what it was like for her. She had a similar answer to mine: you get into a city, meet your roommates and discover they are messed up! Well ok not so shockingly but hers were weird. They just came from bible camp and and said she was going to hell for not being a follower of Christ or some BS. They don't even know her! I felt when I spoke to her that she felt great when with people but quickly alone again when departing.
She was really chill though. She's away for a few months. As quickly as I got to know her, she disappeared.
Krystal or Krystel (not even sure her name) was a nice surprise. Discovered through random conversation she studied chemical engineering (femie!) at U of B? (in New Brunswick or Newfoundland?). She's from Newfoundland. No Newfie jokes. We were sitting in the Vatican museum and when we found out we both recently graduated and received iron rings, Mel overhead and we explained what the ceremony was about. Kristel is also working for some energy company.
So anytime she saw a ring on the pinky finger, most likely it's a Canadian engineer.
I tried to meet these girls after the visit inside the Vatican, but as soon as I finished prayer, they quickly disappeared.
I learned a hard lesson, as soon as you meet someone, you may have to just as quickly let them go.
