Well, we've been busy! Sorry I haven't posted in a while... Our new place is really amazing, even though it still isn't nearly furnished yet. Any mail can be sent to 324 Clover Ln, Fort Collins, CO 80521 and this address should be good till the end of February.
So what have we been up to?! Other than moving, I rocked out at an election party/potluck, went to a stellar Warren Miller movie, and wandered around town drinking free New Belgium at all of the art galleries while the city was lit for a twinkling holiday season. I'm sure I'm missing a lot of details, but it feels like that was almost a month ago to me so I'm not going to try.
Since Nate's been back, he's become a very ambitious (though he was kind of forced into it since I abandoned him to go to work) soup chef! Crafting a new concoction of beer cheese soup with chili and also mastering a delicioud Thai coconut soup AND a veggie noodle soup. Alas, mason jars and the freezer do not get along and 1/4 of our soup was deemed unedible since the jars shattered from the cold and expanding soups.
I also have gotten to finally meet my middleschoolers at my volunteering job! It's entirely different from what I had imagined and I now realize that I truly was a dork while I was in school. These tiny teenagers have all of the knowledge and know-how to learn and succeed at school and yet, when they are only half way through their homework they decide that's enough... not only that, they're afraid that if they do well in school, they'll be called smart... /afraid/ to be called smart! A thought like that has never crossed my mind! I never realized how fortunate I was to have a group of nerdy friends that encouraged me to do my best and push myself when it came to education (even though I chose a cop-out degree, at least I have one, right?)
Soon to come: Furniture! Winter Park! and climbing Elbert, the tallest mountain in Colorado!
