Northern Europe, the North and Baltic Seas and the Surrounding Countries

I'm starting this blog with our most recent trip to Northern Europe. I hope, if I live long enough, to add our past trips to South America, China, and Africa. I've accompanied the writing with a few photos that the stories and descriptions reference. We have included a more complete photo journal following each section. For those of you who have been on this trip, it will bring up your own memories. For those of you who have yet to go, I hope it interests you enough to get the travel bug. I believe I contacted this bug from my uncle, Father Leo. He joined World War II as a Catholic Chaplain and I think that's where he caught it because it seemed every year after he returned home, he traveled to far-away places and would come back and entertain us at Sunday dinner with his stories. Father Leo often volunteered to be a chaplain on cruises so that he could afford to steep himself in other cultures. I loved these travel stories and they engendered in me the hope that one day I would visit these people and-places that he so enjoyed.
