I was born in South Africa in 1975 and moved to the UK in 1996. It was never intended to be so permanent, and now I even have a gleaming British passport, which is great for travelling on the spur of the moment. I was born in South Africa in 1975 and moved to the UK in 1996. It was never intended to be so permanent, and now I even have a gleaming British passport, which is great for travelling on the spur of the moment. Those of you with SA passports will know what I'm getting at! I've been all over the place, and after a few years of being properly ´settled´in London, started scheming the next big Overseas Experience - this time South America and then a stint as a 'working holidaymaker' in Australia for a year. I finally dragged myself out of a London winter stupor and on 31 January 2006 boarded a plane for Buenos Aires. The trip has so far involved (as of mid April), travelling on an overland truck tour through Uruguay to Brazil, where we visited Foz do Igaucu (Iguassu Falls), Bonito and the Pantals, Paraty and finally Rio de Janeiro (the most fabulous city on earth) for Carnaval 2006. Since then I have been travelling through Argentina mostly. The idea is to go up to Quito in Ecuador, but at the moment I am researching where to go to avoid looking like a drowned rat. Watch this space for photos and journal entries, assuming I am organised enough to keep this up to date!
