So knowing amy arrived on the sunday as edul fitri is on the monday, and all staff return home, so no driver! I decide to book a taxi, with the standard company of blue bird (the reputable company) to be told "NO can not" i was like what!!! so i ring express a less reutable company, who take my order, so i think brilliant.
Sunday arrives, i check with express to check taxi arrival, to be told "we are still trying to locate a taxi" i think oh my what will i do? then my lovely friend Jill goes, "you can use my driver, he'll take you to the airport" i thought oh great, but also concerned as its the eve of an indonesian's national holiday. but knowing he'd be happy for the money, i was happy. plus id rather the money went to him than a taxi.
Im waiting at the designated time, and no driver. so i phone my friend who contacts the driver and find out the front drive is flooded! so i walk down to the entrance to find the poor security wading through up to their waist, pushing a gaint trolley/platform.
i can honestly say being pushed through the flood, while two secruity men are pushing the trolley with me sat on it like a queen, through dirty water, was not the most regal experience i was expecting.
finally all's good off to the airport i go with a random man who's my friends driver.
I get to jakarta airport, wait at the exit barrier for Amy, start to feel sick with worry, what if she'd come out of the wrong exit, what if i go to the other exit and miss her, she'll be stuck in a strange country with people shouting trying to get your attention. because on exiting there are these 4 courency exchange women fittng for your custom, almost literally teir hands are thought he tiny speaker holes and taing a coin on the window showing people the no commision signs. while on the other side taxi companies and local men offfering taxi rides! after checking many bags as they go past i notice there still arriving from dubai. so i wait. and then she comes!
