I am back in snowy Chicago and it is very strange not to be skiing on the snow. I really didn't want to leave Colorado.
I took a last lesson on Thursday with the same instructor, Carl, who I had had the day before. My friend Carla was also there from the day before as well as a few others. We did very similar things to the day before including double black diamonds, black diamonds and a whole mogul field. It was becoming insane on the mountain with Easter weekend starting, I was very glad I would not have to fight the crowds over the weekend. By the afternoon I was getting very very tired, 6 days straight of skiing was taking its toll on my body. As the afternoon went on I began falling and getting sore so I called it a day by 3.15pm.
Thursday night was pretty quiet, just Chinese in and chatting with all the people in the hostel. All the people in the hostel were so nice and we just chatted about lots of different stuff.
On Friday I packed and then headed into town for a few hours of shopping. The shops were so much fun as many of them had their end of season sales, although I didn't buy anything as sales on North face clothes meant a jacket that was 300 dollars was now only 200.
However the print shops were really good. They had so many interesting pictures of the rockies and the animals found up there. All I did buy was a picture frame and a few small prints.
The shuttle was one and a half hours late picking me up and then it took over 3 hours to get to the airport as there was another accident so we had to take the backroads. Thankfully I had left over 6 hours between when I planned to leave Breckenridge and getting to Denver International Airport.
The flight was fine and no delays thankgoodness so I was home by 2am and got a good night's sleep last night.
Today I have slept and recovered!
