Day 29: Sooo...today we headed out early to go to the Queen Victoria Markets (the largest markets in the southern hemisphere!) before getting picked up to go to Phillip Island. We left at about 11:30 and went to Gurdies Winery for some wine tasting - the majority of which were grose mingy wines!! Left and went on to Mura (?) park to see koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and stuff like that! Even hand fed the kangaroos and wallabies! Had lunch and drove to Phillip Island to see the penguins! Quick geography lesson - Phillip Island is off the south-east coast of Victoria - SOOOOOOO WINDY!! Most of the penguins were hiding away but managed to hang over the boardwalks to get photos! Left and drove down to a beach where the penguins walk in every night (the penguin parade!) About 5:30, we sat down and waited and watched as about 40 penguins (all no taller than a 30cm ruler, and the worlds smallest penguins) walked up the beach in groups of 4/5! Every so often one would get scared and run back to the sea, closely followed by his buddies until they thought it was safe to do a runner across the beach, up the sand dunes and to their burrows!! Walking back we saw loads going home, and even some mating!! How very educational!! Tomorrow is Neighbours night...meeting Lyn Scully, Toady, Karls band and Stingray!! Unfortunately no Harold Bishop which i am GUTTED about!! but ah well!! Will update on tues if cant tomorrow!!
