Buenos Aires, Argentina
Greetings!! It has been quite a while since I have written anything, but I PROMISE I will get better!
We have been in Argentina for a whole month already, that blows my mind! I love it here, the people, the coffee, the weather, the food, the coffee, the attractions, did I mention the coffee? We started taking language classes last week and they are intense at times, but that is what we are here for. Our instructor is wonderful and so patient... but will not speak in any other language than Spanish. She describes things very well, so it is not a huge deal ^^ I love our class and seven different countries are represented, it is a great mix.
On to other news, we recently got confirmation that the captain of the vessel we are taking to Antarctica would be happy to perform our wedding ceremony! I think this is super exciting...but there are so many things to do! We are scrambling to buy rings, a veil, a bow tie, snow pants....... yes, snow pants! Not your traditional wedding attire, but completely necessary for where we are going. I purchased a vintage birdcage wedding veil yesterday, so we are on our way! We did go to check out a bridal store, oddly enough it was called "Bridal". No luck, as it was closed upon our arrival. From my research, most brides do not buy off the rack as brides in the US do. Most dresses are made by a seamstress specifically for the bride and can be upwards of 10,000 pesos..... eek! (That is about 3,000USD) Personally, I would not drop that kind of money on a dress that I would wear once... but that is just my opinion. I would rather have a great honeymoon, and I can travel a LOOOOONG time on 3,000 buckaroos! Can you say "India"? Hello!!
Our wedding will most likely be December 13 or 14, depending on weather conditions.
We have school tomorrow, so I better get off to bed!
