My trip started on Monday 22, 2013 at 10:59 a.m.
Max was at the pet hotel, my bags in the trunk, and only thing left was my prayer.
No matter how much I travel, I always say a prayer before leaving home for a safe and memorable journey.
Today is the first leg Memphis to Atlanta. Two years ago when Jessie and I went to Ecuador, between flights and layovers, we were up over 24 hours. This time I wanted to break up my trip. Fly to Atlanta and get up the next day to continue to Peru.
I also did not fly non rev on this leg. When the smaller number of Delta flights and with a new and lower senority, I didn't want to be on pins and needles. Airtran had rates where roundtrip was under $100 and when checking two bags made first class free, no brainer on who I went with.
Flew out on Airtran flight 876 at 1:35 p.m. Last week when I was working on A-2, I watched this flight take off thinking "Next week, that's me!".
Got to Atlanta and checked into Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport West Camp Creek. This was a great location. Within walking to stores, banks, restaurants. The best feature of this hotel, a 2,000 foot deck overlook Princeton Lake!
Went to Publix and got a three piece and Greek salad and return back to the deck to enjoy dinner.
It was so peaceful just to feel a soft breeze that ripple the lake, listening to the bird calls and watching a turtle on a log until he decided to dive into the lake. Very restful! Headed back in at dark and enjoyed tv until around 10:30 p.m.
The next day heading to Peru!
