My emotions are a rollercoaster. But after everything that 2014 has dealt me, that's nothing new.
Today is my last day at work (great company, great people) before my South East Asian travels begin.
Last night I said my first au revoirs to close friends. As I walked home alone I thought how lucky and privileged I am to have such wonderful people in my life. I'm profoundly grateful for my friends and family. Knowing that I'm off on a journey for me, with myself; sheesh, I'm going to miss you guys.
It also makes me remember how much I adore London. I'm coming back for sure. I guess this is the way it always is before an adventure. Trepidation and nervous excitement and nostalgia.
I'm driving back to the Midlands for Christmas on Sunday and this will be the start of my story as a wanderer for the next three months: no fixed abode/ my backpack is my life/where I lay my hat is my home/ littlest hobo.
Merry Christmas

Mike Album: Maybe Tomorrow There's a voice that keeps on calling me Down the road, that's where I'll always be. Every stop I make, I make a new friend, Can't stay for long, just turn around and I'm gone again Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down, Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on. Down this road that never seems to end, Where new adventure lies just around the bend. So if you want to join me for a while, Just grab your hat, we'll travel light, that's hobo style. Maybe tomorrow I'll want to settle down, Until tomorrow, the whole world is my home. So if you want to join me for a while, Just grab your hat, we'll travel light, that's hobo style Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down, Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on. Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down, Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on. There's a world that's waiting to unfold, A brand new tale no-one has ever told. We've journeyed far so you know it wont be long; We're almost there, and we've paid our fare with a hobo song. Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down, Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on. So if you want to join me for a while, Just grab your hat, we'll travel light, that's hobo style. Maybe tomorrow, I'll find what I call home, Until tomorrow, you know I'm free to roam
