We stopped by Jim the repairman's workshop to get the water shutoff valve replaced in the van and then got going. The drive out from Darwin is a bit long and boring really. The initial entrance to Kakadu is quite underwhelming and you wouldn't know it unless the sign said so. "Kakadu National Park - World Heritage." Refueled at Jabiru and then on to Cooinda to our stop. It's okay here, pool, shop, amenities, etc. Very busy. Had a minor crash when I backed Todowold into a tree and put a dent in the tailgate. Had a swim to cool down and that was very appreciated.
We decided to eat at the silver service restaurant called Mimi's and a better decision I cannot recall. The room was spacious with plenty of space between the scattered customers. The table, carpet and walls were adorned with aboriginal art that was all very good. The service also excellent from our French and German waiter and waitress. And the food was perfect. I said to A, "This is the best meal I have had in a long time." It was sirloin with truffled potato and onion jam. AJC all enjoyed it and everyone was dressed up and civilized.
