Adzakly Tour
Hanoi, Vietnam
Hello again,
Well it has been a while now since I last wrote. I have talked to a few of you but not too many people because the time change is so different. By the way since i just put your number in my phone and don't actually know anyones phone number you can email it to me and I can try to call because it is fairly to cheap to talk. They use a soup can and a string so that might be why it is cheaper here.
So it is friday I think and we are now in Mui ne beach in Vietnam. The weather was s***ty today but is usually about 30-35 and sunny. The beach here is gorgeous but that fat european ladies aren't really. This is a kitesurfing town which is too expensive for our blood to take lessons so we are leaving here tomorrow for Nha Trang another beach just further north. It is like 300usd for a few day lesson which you need because it looks pretty hard. Not as hard as the bodies on the guys doing it. Yosh pointed that out. Besides that it is pretty cheap here. Our room is 15 US and we have our own bed shower and air con. Not the cheapest here but a happy median. 10 :) 15 :) 20. For th more visual person.
I am not sure exactly where we were at the last point where I Logged this journal or elsewhere. I thought is was suppose to be the opposite. anyways back to the t(r)ask at hand (how is the online gaming going?) I think we were in Lamai beach in Thailand which seems ages ago now. Not sure if I wrote about the full moon party but is was a blast. Jutz (7) . We partied till like 5 tons of people and tons of booze. After that we hit Koh tao another island in the south but the weather was s***ty there again and it was a diving island which we again skipped out on. We had a few good nights out there but only go there is you have time to dive like 4-5 days.
We then ventured to the north in chang mai to go on a three day out trip with elephant trekking, hiking sleeping in shacks and bamboo rafting. It was a great experience and recommend it to everyone. After that we spent a few days in chang mai (new city) where we did some shopping, bungy jumping, gun range and cooking classes. A busy few days but again no regrets there. We didn't even go home with the thail hookers and non hookers (maybe) that were all over us. Our celebrity status is still really high here even in vietnam but we are trying to stay out of the asian tabloids even though we have heard many times that zak "doesn't look canada".
My shopping here has consisted of cheap t shirts and me making an attempt at the total pimp outfit. I have bought the biggest baddest watch and belt buckles you have ever seen also a custom fit white suit and a snake skin wallet. I love it. Zaks shopping even though cheap compared to home has lacosted him more then the rest of his trip. He wont have much nipple left if he keeps letting aligators hang out there.
Our first stop in Vietnam was in Saigon or now called Ho chi minh city. Holy bikes! It is the craziest traffic you have ever seen. It is the most organized mayhem ever. Ever intersection (i don't think there are lights) will have like 40 bikes at a time, along with cars and buses and they just honk and weave in and out. Nevermind trying to cross the street. We started just closing our eyes and crossing and they just drive around. Vietnam is diffrent from thailand as there is barely any western influence. No Mcdonalds or 7 11 like thailand. It is very cheap here and there is a lot of baggers and poor people. We have been ripped off a few times which is annoying but still only ends up costling a few dollars. Also if you are under 26 and are going to travel I highly suggest using sta travel as there are offices in every major city making it easy to change dates for flights. Well in saigon we visited the mekong delta and the cu chi tunnels. Very worth while tours. The cu chi tunnels are where the viet kong (north communist) hide to win over the south and the americans during the 60"s and 70's. We went through them and I was happy to climb right back out I could not imagine.
We are now travelling on an open bus ticket from saigon to hanoi with four stops along the way and a free hotel for a night for 22US. Cheap Eh?
well that is all I can spit out for now and i have yet to upload my pics but the interent is slow here. soon I promise. Hope everyone is doing well and would love to here if you have any exciting news.
talk to you all soon
