So Kuala Lumpur was fairly interesting. Ate some pretty strange food and bought some filthy cheap clothes in the chinatown stalls.
From KL we flew to Krabi in Thailand which is the city running boats to Koh Phi Phi where we headed next. Phi Phi is a fantastic little island with a pretty laid back atmosphere. We took a boat trip on one day and got to see some various smaller islands including Maya - which is where "the beach" was filmed. On one evening we went to a bar which has a Muay Thai fighting ring - inbetween the professional fights spectators are invited to get up and fight in exchange for free drinks. After a few buckets I was feeling pretty cocky so agreed to go up against a nice chap from Israel. It was pretty cool - and although he managed to give me a bleeding nose I won. And survived!
From Koh Phi Phi we took a 2 boats and 3 buses here to Koh Phangan and met up with 5 other people from Brighton. The full moon party isn't until the 9th but the warm up parties are pretty intense. Normally people head onto the beach for about 11pm - then when the music turns off at 2am people take cabs to one of the various pool parties around the island. Drinks are served in buckets (see above) and cost around 2 to 3 pound (this includes a bottle of vodka, a bottle of redbull and sometimes sprite - harsh)
Feeling pretty knackered but still healthy and readying myself for the next 48 hours which are likely to be pretty messy.
