So last night turned pretty eventful. We all went out for a meal then me, mike the tour leader, kev, dan and sunny went to a few bars. It was happy hour it lots of places with 3 Cuba libres (rum and cokes) for 12 soles, around 3 quid! And they were strong rums too, which meant everyone got pretty drunk pretty quick before heading to the club! The club was full of other tour groups so was an awesome night. But got woken up this morning at 6 so was not the best idea to go out but still awesome!
We had a 6 hour bus journey today going via a pass which was 5000 metres above sea level, the highest point of the trip. Breathing was pretty difficult while just sitting so naturally I decided to jump for a photo off a wall, ending up with a pretty bad headache!
We then continued to Chivay where we are spending the night in a beautiful lodge with views over the valley, and a log fire (it does go below freezing when it's dark after all) tonight we all just chilled out around the fire reading and drinking hot chocolate before an early night as we have to be up at 5am tomorrow to make our way to the Colca Canyon to see the famous giant condors. Apparently it is difficult to see them so we may not get to but would be good to just see one, here's hoping!
