Hi Kids
Well, we made out of Florida alive, or I should say, made it to Minneapolis alive. Naples was nice and Ft Myers was a blast thanks to our boss Will Prather and his lively wife Andrea, they threw a heck of a party at the Broadway Palm for the casts of Footloose, The Wedding Singer, Church Basement Ladies and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It was a chance for meet and greet and for friends to reconnect, as some folks knew people in other casts, and it was a time when we could just get our Ya Ya's out since we had that night and the next night off.
The party was progressing at a somewhat fevered pitch when someone thought it might be a good idea to play music from Footloose and the Wedding Singer. You could see immediately who was more in need of a day off from their show because when our cast heard the first few bars, they did acknowledge it with a bit of a wearied cheer but continued dancing as before. But when the Wedding Singer music started their cast dove for the dance floor and started doing their energetic choreography. As one of my com padres pointed out, " Let's see what they do after 100 shows and about 20 thousand miles on a bus"...oh, good times! We all had way too much to drink and some of us were paying the price the next day but it was a lot of fun...thanks Will.
Me, I'm just happy to be taking it all in, and still excitited about all this. I do miss home and can't wait to not live out of a suitcase for a while, but I really do love this. To think, we did five shows at the Philharmonic in Naples FL. partied in Ft. Myers the next night, flew up to Minneapolis and spent the night in the city...very nice city by the way. Nicollet Ave ? Lots of nice restaurants. And La Belle crepes for breakfast, I highly recommend... but I digress. And today we go to flood ravaged Fargo ND for a performance at the FargoDome, how fun is that. Though I hope they've got all the sand out of the dome from the sandbag operation during the flood, we'll see. We thought the performance might be cancelled because of the flood but Matt says we're still on and they're all very excited to have us, should be fun times.
Be back soon
Glenn
