Stan head off Monday night whilst the girls and I stayed at the very lovely Novotel in Lyon. We really liked Lyon, it had a good feel to it. And the shops are open till 8 pm, so we made the most of it and Cassie, who else, managed to pick up a cute little dress.
We head off at 8 am ,.after a yummy hotel breakfast, on the light rail to the airport. Staff so friendly, and most people we came across spoke reasonable Englush, which made it easier. Melbourne needs some sort of rail connection to the airport, so much better for travellers.
We picked up the hire car, as Stan warned, you never get what you booked so we have a rather long Puegot wagon and I asked for GPS, as our last car had excellent built in one, but they gave us a portable one, which did the trick but not as good. Alex also assisted with good navigational skills. Cassie helped keep me on the right and found the signs. Team effort.
So after edging too close to the right, taking out a few trees on the way up the steep, undulating and winding 2 km dirt road to our villa we were pleased to find a very cute and homely place, kind and friendly hostess named Flaminia bearing a delicious homemade jam torte, warm weather ( high 20s) and a pool. The views are like you see in the movies. Alex befriended a playful puppy called Priska.
Wish Stan was here as he would just love it, although bit hilly for his walks, but he'd manage.
This is a photo of the front of the villa.
