We had a late start today. Meeting time was 10am, so slept in till around 8.30 and had brekky at the hostel. Never pass up a free brekky when travelling! And always take a little something for the road...like a banana.
We headed off and drove for only about an hour when we had to stop to go through customs and I had to shovel down my banana as you're not supposed to take fruit across the border.
We drove another couple of hours into Vermont and played Uno which was fun and passed the time.
We stopped at a funny little diner for lunch, typical american sort of burgers & fries and we all sat around the U shaped bench with the waitress in the middle.
Back on the road again around 3.15pm to head to Ben & Jerry's icecream factory. Icecream!!!! We did a 10 minute tour to see the factory including a free sample, and then bought icecream at the store at the end. It was pretty yummy!
Another short drive before reaching our destination for the next 2 nights. We stopped down the road to get groceries and grog since we have rented a whole house, and will be cooking dinner and breakfast.
When we got there, our guide Libby said there was various rooms with 2 or 3 beds and 1 single room whover wants it. BAZINGZA!!! ME ME ME! My hand shot up before I could even think about it! Score! It has a double bed and it's own sink! No toilet or shower though. Besides, the younger kiddies love hanging out together and I'm more the loner so it makes sense. I'm just glad I can have a few nights away from the Korean girl who talks loudly in her sleep!
Around 8pm we headed out for dinner to the pizza & pasta restaurant next door. We had a nice dinner then had a night in playing board games - since we're in the mountains and there's no night life.
A pretty chill day really. A full day to explore Stowe tomorrow.
