Eriko Sometimes it can come close but I see it as a rock/metal hybrid, I think the gugrne scene took a little from Melvins (a metal band) and some rock bands, so it is probably closest to hard rock. Some songs like Outshined sound almost metal but not quite. If you count gugrne as metal, then you would have to call bands like Kyuss and other stoner rock bands metal too.
