After an uncomfortable overnight bus ride I arrived in Agnes Water where I was to meet my Laos partners in crime, Amelia and Lily. Expecting them to still be asleep at 10:30 I was surprised when they were not in my room. Despite everyone I had met in Australia telling me they had booked their Whitsundays trips in advanced I arrived at Airlie Beach with no prior booking determined I could blag a great last minute deal...and i did...unfortunately there was a down side...I managed to aquire a rather irritating 18 year old Canadian boy who despite my persistent hints at wanting to be left alone, hung around me like a bad smell to the extent that when I moved to a new hostel he follow...

After over a week in the outback when I arrived in Cairns I just wanted to relax. So i spent a few days utilising the free wifi, sunbathing and even went to the cinema...on my own haha. I did however venture as far as a nearby island on the great barrier reef where i went on a glass bottom boat, donned a ridiculous stinger suit before being very disappointed by the lack of life i found as i snorkelled the reef and instead got my excitement from watching a croc fe...

Once I was on the road to recovery I had an action packed 3 days at Ayers Rock National Park. First stop...a cammel ranch...apparently Oz has cammels...who knew? Then on to the national park where I climbed a LOT of orange stone steps to see some pretty nice bolders...and even more impressive were the views. The water tasted like a swimming pool though, which made it hard to drink as much as you needed to and it wasn't long before one of the Brits was in the clin...
