We continue today in Kazakhstan travelling from Balkhash to Pavlodar, a massive 500 miles. Breakfast is served at 530am - cold fried eggs and spam - better than nothing I guess! We leave at 6am and by 1000am we have covered over 200 miles. Pretty good desert roads and a bit over the speed limit most of the time. Soup and a cup of tea in a truckers cafe and we continue to make excellent progress until the last 50 miles or so into Pavlodar, where there is road construction work ongoing. Why they can't finish one section completely and move on beggars believe, instead about 30 or 40 miles of no road, new road, old road, new road with bits missing and lots of dust- hopefully you are getting the picture.
Our hotel, Nurtau is good with a large bedroom and good wifi.
My bike, the Triumph Tiger turned 50 today, 50000 miles to be precise. She (her name isTallulah) has taken me half way around the world and not let me down once. She is looking very dirty and downhearted at the moment but hopefully she will me through the Gobi desert in Mongolia next week.
Pavlodar is quite a modern, clean, lively town and we go the local steakhouse for supper.
We cross back into Russia tomorrow so another long day but at least the roads should be good.
