Hi Everyone, hope you are all well. First of all HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY GABBY, miss you and love you loads. We have been in Kununurra for a week and a half staying with our good friend Samantha and her amazing family. Our jurney started off really boring as our flight from the gold coast to Sydney was very early in the morning and then our flight to Darwin was late at night so we had to wait around Sydney Airport for 12 hours, then when we arrived at Darwin we had to sleep in the airport and then get a taxi to the greyhound station where we would be on a bus for 9 hours, or so we thought. Darwin is a lovely place from what we have heard and seen and will definatly be a place to visit in the futire, it is a very tropical hot place with alot to see and do. as soon as we got out of the taxi the heat of the morning hit us, it was so warm we were dreading the daytime heat already.lol. we then borded the greyhound bus which was air conditioned which was so nice because as the hours went by and we were stopping of at places for breaks we realised that we couldn't stay out in the sun for longer than 10 minutes, it was like living in your oven and not being able to cool down, so we were releaved to get back on the bus with the air con. Then an hour away from Kununurra The bus pulled over and the driver got out, then I thought "what if the bus broke down and we were stuck with no air con in 38 degrees heat?"Then the driver got on the bus and broke the news with a big smile on his face " The cooling system on the bus is leeking and we can not locate the leek so we will be stuck here for about 3 to 4 hours with no air conditioning. I suggest you get off the bus as it will get really hot in a few minutes". we were so mad how is that good news. lol. stupid bus. we were stuck there in the heat for 3 hours and then another bus came to take us to Kununurra, I was suprised how well me and Aaron handled the heat as it was really hot but not humid. when we arrived Sam picked us up and took us to the only takeaway in Kununurra called Chicken treat which was really nice.
Our first day Sam and Dillon (Sams friend) took us swimming in a beautiful lake and we had a lovely picnic. there were little fishes swimming around us and the water was really clear. we then went sight seeing to different dams and rivers. there is a dam here that when it rains fills up so the let the water run out and if the dam was every to break the whole of Kununurra would be under water withing 5 minutes.
That night we went to a 21st dress up part and it was Halloween. we had an amazing time, the party was right next to the river, so the first half of the night we drank and danced and the second part we just sat infront of the river and watched the cat fish and other fish swimming it was so beautiful, was hoping to see a crocodile but forgot our tourch. The part was really good and the boy whos party it was, was given two little piglets, they were so cute. you can see them on the photos.
The next day we went out on Sams family boat, this was one of the most amazing dys we have had on our travels. Their boat is amazing, we went swimming in the lake, Aaron and drew (Sams Dad) jumped off a really high rock called jump rock, we went on a huge inflatable circle called a biscuit which was dragged at the back of the boat it was so much fun. Sam went waif boarding where she water skis on her Knees, it's so hard to do. When me and Aaron were on the biscuit a huge crocodile dived in the water right next to us, so we were dragged back in to the boat, scary. apparently it was a fresh water croc which are less dangerous than the salt water crocs, and both of them live in that lake. We such an amazing time.
For the rest of the week we were pampered and treated so well, we could finally relax somewhere friendly and safe. throughout the Day we would swim in Sams pool and sun bath for a bit but not long because it is so hot or go to Sams gym. Then at night we would either watch Sam play sports (and try to get us to play) lol, or we would go for a meal with Sams friends or chill with her family.
Last weekend we went to see 5 river lookout and went to molly springs, molly springs is a fresh water spring with a beautiful waterfall, it was amazing and 5 river lookout is a beautiful big river where 5 rivers meet and you can see this by standing at the to of a mountain and looking down, it is so beautiful. Sturday night we had a film noght, we had a projector by the pool and we watched films in the pool and drank, it was so good, lovely and warm too. we are having an amzing time here and we don't want to leave. we are missing everyne so much. love you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
