Its our last day in Paris and Im itching to see and do all the things Ive missed. Realistically that isnt going to happen, but I can try.
Both of the girls are still fast asleep at 10.00am ,Noel and I had already been to the Cafe for pastries and coffee, they are still asleep when we get back. Haha the kids get fruit and toast for being so slow !! Seriously did you ever think I was the kind of mother who would leave her three kids alone in a strange country for pastries and coffee, yes you are right, I would !!
Eventually we got out the door and went to finish up some shopping, As usual, Noel and I don't see eye to eye about how to shop so we separate, AJ comes with me, seriously that girls knows which side her bread is buttered on. So Noel takes Lachlan and Paige to wander aimlessly on a hot summers day in the city.
AJ and I found a few great shops in the Madelaine area, grabbed a Starbucks cold drink and shopped some more. We stopped at about 2, bought some baby quiches for lunch and walked home. When we got home, Noel had left the kids to go back out to look for a pair of sunglasses, he didnt get anything on his first shopping trip, or the second, so when he got back, he cooled down and went back to a shop he had walked past twice already. Not saying anything.........
We all had a bit of a rest and started packing, but I did want to go to Sacre Cour, and see the Basillica, we decided to go late afternoon as it has been about 29-30 for days, and is too hot in the mid afternoon. (I know, poor us) So off we went on the Metro again, and I even bought our tickets from a machine wholly in French. (I need to stay longer, Im just getting good at this) Its still really hot, so we catch the little train to the top.
It really is beautiful inside, and no photos so really peaceful. Got held up coming out by a woman who was being helped along by 2 men, not sure if she fell or had received a miracle !!
We walked the little streets of Montmatre, finding a little bistro to have dinner. I have put photos in an album. Have a look at the french guy with slick back hair, we have named him The Soup Nazi. Some women at the next table questioned him about the menu, and he says "what is on the menu is on the menu ! " Cracked us up. He stood out the front of his restaurant chain smoking and watching people eat. Noel said I hope he takes Visa or I'm F****d. We couldn't stop laughing at him, he was so aggresive with customers, luckily we scored another waiter !! Could easily imagine him "no soup for you!!"
Anyway, I guess small things amuse small minds......we walked back down the hill, turned right and walked all the way home. Straight through the red light district, never mind, I guess its all educational, although Lachlan did point out a sex toy shop that he and Noel walked past the other day, and he just saw a DVD sign and thought he would have a little look, until Noel told him to look up and he saw the other signs.......whoops!
Back home to pack and get organised.

Kizzie Gotta have some "culture" for those boys Leanne. Glad you had a shopping partner in AJ I'm sure she knew what she was doing. Will check out the soup nazi when I can on the computer. Looks like you're having a fabulous time.
