Did I win the lottery? Did I come into a large inheritance? Did I lose my mind? Answer to all these questions that were posed to me on my last day at work, NO.
I just had an idea that in my world there was more to look forwards to than the treadmill of life, the grey cubicle that I was working from most days and above all I needed a challenge and a new perspective on life.
Don't get me wrong I had an excellent job, in fact many would say a "dream job". Working as a Product Manager for a tourism company certainly has many great advantages and I have been lucky enough to already leave my native England, to live in the Dominican Republic and Mexico before settling in Philadelphia. For work I have already travelled to Cuba, Jamaica, Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Colombia, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, but I simply wanted to travel to new places. New places that I could choose, travel in my own time, meet new people and decide what the next "part of my life" would look like. I am after all 39 with no strings, no commitments and a very strong sense of adventure.
Thank you to my colleagues and friends at Apple Vacations who gave me a great leaving send off. To answer the most frequently asked question, yes anyone can do this, it just takes some planning and oh yes a strong belief that all will work out for the best.
So here I am now trying to navigate the world of social media, to keep an up to date record of my travel plans, experiences and adventures in the coming 6 months. Tips and comments to help me along my path all greatly appreciated!

Sarah Thanks Sobeida, I am still trying to figure out personal and professional blogging sites and to get this all up and running, I want to be able to remember everything I am doing this year. Thanks for the comment, creative writing is not my strong point so hopefully I dont bore people too much, lol. Hope all is well with you and Sarita, she is becoming quite the athlete I see :-)
